Florida’s clinician paper trail
Start with the person
Ask for the clinician’s full name and the kind of license they hold, such as a doctor’s, physician assistant’s, or nurse’s license. As of September 2026, Florida’s free search shows whether that license is active, a public profile page, and any discipline record, meaning formal action by a licensing board.Source
A clinician outside Florida may still treat a person in Florida by telehealth, which means care at a distance. For routine telehealth as of September 2026, that clinician needs a Florida license, multistate compact authority that applies here, or out-of-state registration with Florida. The exceptions are narrow: an emergency, or a consultation in which a Florida-licensed clinician stays in charge of your diagnosis and care.Source

Name the pharmacy
Find out the name of the pharmacy that will prepare or ship the medicine. The same free Florida license search also looks up pharmacies. The exact business name and location turn a vague claim into a record that can be checked.
As of September 2026, a pharmacy outside Florida that mails prescription medicine into the state generally must be registered with the Florida Board of Pharmacy.Source
A compounded medicine is made for a patient by a pharmacy. For a compounded injection, an out-of-state pharmacy or a larger drug-making site registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) needs a separate Florida permit and a recent inspection report.Source
The visit
The conversation must work both ways
As of September 2026, Florida law says care by telehealth must meet the same standard as care in an office. The clinician must also write the visit into your medical record the same way.Source
State medical boards, through their national federation, warn that a static checklist questionnaire is not a real medical review by itself if it cannot collect enough information or allow the clinician to ask more questions.Source
A form can still be part of real care. What matters is whether the clinician can ask more, explain the choice, and hear questions in return.
